WHAT DO YOU DO?
We do written translations in specific language pairs (e.g., Spanish to English), editing and back translations (BT) and provide interpreters (oral translations) by special arrangement.
We do not provide American Sign Language interpreting, transcription and/or transcription interpreting or telephonic-interpreting.
We do not have any governmental security clearances at this time.
The Owner, Louis Mitler, is a US citizen.
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Our translation rates vary between .12/wd. and .15/wd. USD, target* word count. (Charges based on source count on special request.)
Editing will be charged at the rate of .03/wd. USD. Interpretation charges on request.
The minimum charge for a job is $50.00 USD. Two or more short jobs submitted at the same time may be combined at our discretion.
Rates are calculated in the USD.
HOW ARE YOUR RATES CALCULATED?
Work will be accepted and a price agreed on after the complete source document has been reviewed by TRS and the client has submitted a PO acceptable to both parties. A NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) for confidentiality can be signed if required in order to release the document.
DOCUMENTATION FOR NEW TRANSLATORS
If a new client requests any documentation in addition our standard invoice (registration processes, references, tax forms, etc.), the client is requested to supply a full list of such paperwork before we start work.
WILL YOU TAKE A TRANSLATION TEST?
We will provide new clients a free, short translation test passage, if required and at our discretion.
WHAT ABOUT OUR QUALITY CONTROL?
Please submit notice of errors and omissions in a timely fashion (a few days after our delivery of the job or in stages for longer projects). We will not be responsible for stylistic changes. We request permission to contact the editor directly in the event of major issues and offer the same facility.
WHAT KIND OF SOFTWARE DO YOU USE?
The document will be delivered in MS Word.
WHEN AND HOW IS PAYMENT DUE?
Payment is due in full within 30 days from delivery, longer terms of payment by agreement. A check made to TRS services and mailed to TRS Translation Services 1619 King Mountain Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901 is acceptable for US businesses; PayPal in favour of TRS Translation is requested for non-US firms. Periodic payments may be required for larger projects.
